Microsoft plans to host digital-first events until August 2021

Microsoft will conduct its internal and external events through digital means until August 2021 (through GamesIndustry.biz)“In light of the problems associated with COVID-19, Microsoft is closely monitoring the evolving global situation and reassessing the overall strategy for personal events throughout the company,”

The internal e-mail said.”How Microsoft made the decision to transfer all external and internal events to the digital environment until July 2021.” Decision Affects Microsoft MVP& RD Summit, which runs from March 28 to April 2.

Whether this step will include future Xbox events is unclear. Inside the Xbox streams, a monthly broadcast of news and updates that are on the way to games on the platform and have been a successful format is offered.

This may mean that Microsoft does not plan to attend the E3 2021, which is another loss for the Entertainment Software Association. The ESA can count on reliable Microsoft support year after year, but the aftermath of this pandemic seems to go far into the future.
